As popular as this series is (manga and anime) (ok, still not too well known in North America even though Case Closed (Funimation version)
came out and been on Crunchyroll for years now too), there wasn't a whole lot of merchandise for MANY years.
There was some done in 1996 (first year of the anime), and there's always comic fair items made each year
(can only get at the special events) and there's always merchandise is created for each movie (28th film out Apr 2025).
There were more items out for the 5th, 10th, 20th anniversaries for the anime, but overall it still paled in comparison to other big hit anime
(Fullmetal Alchemist, BLEACH, Prince of Tennis ... ).
Over the years have seen some more items released at various times of the year. 2012 was brisk with even
a few video games, drama CD, and some Magic Kaito merchandise too. Not sure why, but 2017 and 2018 saw a LOT more goods!
Anime cafes and other special tie-ins as well. 22nd movie (2018) stunned at how much merchandise there was.
2019-2024 the amount of goods been amazing... succsess of the movies in recent years part of reason for the increase I presume.
2024 the amount of trading card sets alone had in ONE month more sets out than previous 20 years in total. oO

10th Movie: Private Eyes' Requiem:
An event (World Hobby Fair) only released item meant to promote the movie, a clearfile,
a plastic sleeve meant to protect documents/papers. This is a large one, 12 inches by 8.75 inches.
Front side artwork is a collection of every character of significance that's ever been in the series (so far ^^).
The artwork on the back is one of the posters for the movie. This clearfile was also a prize if you were first 10 people at certain theatre
locations that sold advance tickets back on March 4th. Released in Japan by TOHO (film company).
