Maze consists of a 1996 TV series (26 episodes), a 2 part OVA (time setting within the TV
plotline and yet it's almost an alternate universe in the OVA) (1997?) and a "movie" in 1998
(how long, if it was in theatres, dunno). The TV series and OVA did get released
by Software Sculptors (US) on DVD. The anime is based on the 6 Volume manga.

Action, adventure, magic, mechs, more than a hint of sex (looser moral standards permitted
since it was a midnight anime ^^), humour and one really, really annoying Princess.
As well as creating a new word in Japanese: Oneniisama = older brother/sister needed to describe
Maze since Maze is 2 people as one: a woman by day and a man by night who are actually...
Well, that would be giving too much of the plot away... ^^;

For you seiyuu fans out there, it's another reason to watch:

Female Maze Mitsuishi Kotono (Sailor Moon, EVA, Noir, Excel Saga, Angelic Layer)
Male Maze Seki Tomokazu (Escaflowne, Gravitation, Fushigi Yuugi, Initial D, YUA)

Trading Card Collection

Made by COSPA in Japan 1998
Standard card size, however, cards are VERY glossy on both sides and
just a little bit thinner card stock than usually find.

135 Cards in complete set
129 regular cards, 6 foils

10 cards/pack, 15 packs per box
2 foils in a box

Absolutely lousy distribution!!!

Cards cover the TV series, OVA and movie (yes, there was a movie!)

To make things more interesting, the cards aren't numbered 1-129,
it's broken down into sections, each with it's own code. oO

May 2021: From another card collector, Mikk Kukan, I learned
that the set also has a SP00 card. oO Ah, those slips of paper. . .
Took me years to know the slips of paper got in a pack are needed
to send away for a mail away/present OR lucky draw card. X number
of slips (15-30 typically) are needed. If mail away/present type, then
you're guaranteed to get the card. A lucky draw type, the slips only give
you the CHANCE to win the special card. SP00 for MAZE set is the lucky
draw type. Mikk Kukan said card was limited to 1000 cards, and every
3 slips gave a person a chance to win one. Also need to be lucky enough
to have someone to help you in Japan to get the slips mailed in. . .
Why I rarely tried to go after these mail away/present/lucky draw special cards.
Better (or maybe not) getting such cards via auction.
